Dear all,for the aqualife project, you need to complete all the assignments and quizzes before 15th Mar 09.
Students need to fill in the assignments online in their project log book and in their passports. At the end of the program passports will be collected to check if all assignments are done.
so far it appears that only Zu He has attempted the first quiz....
I have created teams comprising of 2 students per team as follows:
andrea, tian yi
angel, felicia
ting fang, gui fang
fong min, yin leng
qiqi, yuanhui
weiting, yenna
youling, mavolyn
shu hui, xin yun
stephanie, en qi
xin yuan, shi hui
soh yee, sherlyn
xiaojun, xiuping
jing yi, tin ching
chen shin, ming chuan
jeremy, yi xuan
dilon, tian jun
jia hao, jia wei
jin teck, zu he
jason, chin keong
harrison, hong xing
The total scores of each individual will be summed together with his/her partner. The best team will be rewarded.
Please show me more progress by the end of week 8.
Thank you.

i know you are getting sick of me but i really have quite a bit to share and time is not enoough!in your report, you need to include a section on your recommendations or observations or discussion about implications on future, etc
your report must have some originality hence this section is a must. the input will be totally your opinions, ideas and sharing. if you have nothing to comment after you have done so much on the project, then you have learn nothing but purely copy and paste from internet.
for example,
reservoir group can come out with a one day prog for family to enjoy at the reservoirs or a one day prog for a group of teenagers, etc. You design the prog of activites yourself hence it is original!
water conservation group can introduce more innovative methods of water saving or propose some educational prog to create public awareness. If the idea is good, who knows the P may forward it to PUB!
Anyway, this section depends on what info you have presented in the report. Based on your info, you come out with something original to talk about. I can only advice you further after I seen your first draft.
I booked lab 1 on fri for PW. But we do not have printer inside, so please do print out a hardcopy for me then we discuss during the lessons.

yoZ!,
For PW groups without any statistics and has only plain info, I thought of an idea to help u: SURVEYS or INTERVIEWS!!!
you can use surverys or interviews to gather feedbacks, data on other people's understanding of the topic you are working on.
For example,
water conservation - can use survey to investigate how much $$ a household spends on water, what are the common activities that use large amount of water, what are the common water saving methods, does the household "save water", etc....
politics - can use survey to find out students' knowledge in the history of singapore water, etc
sports - can use survey to find out students' knowledge on the sport, how many know how to play, how many willing to pay the $$, find out the sport is popular among which age group, etc
tap water - can find out how many pple would drink from tap, their knowledge on "cleanliness" of tap water, how many of the elders disagree to drink from tap, etc.
reservoirs - popularity of the reservoirs, knowledge about the facilities and activities available in the reservoirs, etc.
Depending on what story you wish to tell, you can create a simple survey to ask people questions and collect some statistics to make your story more convincing. Of course, knowing that you are students, your sample size may be small (maybe 20 to 50??) but at least you tried!
If you are interested, please come and discuss with me your ideas so that I can give some advices.

hi class,I know you have no experience in writing a report.
This is going to be difficult for you but do understand that it will be equally difficult for me to guide every single group, especially when the contents are different, the report may differ uniquely.
anyway, let's work together to get a good job done.
below are some links to info about report writing for your reference.
http://www3.moe.edu.sg/edumall/tl/it_integration/engaging_it_
practices/reporting.htm
http://www.cse.iitk.ac.in/users/braman/students/good-report.html
http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/mae/Research/Programmes/Thinfilms
/Sam/courses/ReportWritingAnatomy.htm
Now, hopefully, you have a better idea of the structure from above.
My intention is to look through your draft's info then decide on how to customise your contents to suit your project.
Not much time left, so let's work hard together.
